John12: 12-15,19

The next day the great crowd that had come for the Feast heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem.  They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,

“Hosanna!”

“Blessed in he who comes in the name of the Lord!”

“Blessed is the King of Israel!”

Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it, as it is written,

“Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion:

see your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.”

So the Pharisees said to one another, “See this is getting us nowhere.  Look how the whole world has gone after him!”

Mark 11:18

The chief priests and the teachers of the law… began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.

Matthew 26:14

Then one of the Twelve-the one called Judas Iscariot-went to the chief priests and asked," What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?”  So they counted out for him thirty silver coins.  From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.

Matthew26: 17,20,22,25-30

On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, …Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve.  And while they were eating, he said, “I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me.”  They were very sad and began to say to him one after the other, “Surely not I, Lord?”  Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said, “Surely not I, Rabbi?”  Jesus answered, “Yes, it is you.”

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat: This is my body.”  Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them saying, “Drink from it, all of you.  This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.  When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Mark 14:32-37,41-46,50

They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples,” Sit here while I pray.”  He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled.. . He said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.”  Going a little farther he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him.  “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me.  Yet not what I will, but what you will.”  Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping… He said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting?  Enough!  The hour has come.  Look, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.  Rise!  Let us go!  Here comes my betrayer!”

Just as he was speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, appeared.  With him was a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders.  Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The one I kiss is the man; arrest him and lead him away under guard.”  Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, “Rabbi!” and kissed him.  The men seized Jesus and arrested him… Then everyone deserted him and fled.

Mark 14:53,64,

They took Jesus to the high priest, and all the chief priests, elders and teachers of the law came together.  They all condemned him as worthy of death.  Then some began to spit at him; they blindfolded him, struck him with their fists, and said, “Prophesy!”  And the guards took him and beat him.

Mark 15:1,2,6-13,15

Very early in the morning, the chief priests, with the elders, the teachers of the law and the whole Sanhedrin, reached a decision.  They bound Jesus, led him away and handed him over to Pilate. “ Are you the king of the Jews?” asked Pilate.  “Yes, it is as you say,” Jesus replied.  Now it was the custom at the Feast to release a prisoner whom the people requested.  A man called Barabbas was in prison with the insurrectionists who had committed murder in the uprising.  The crowd came up and asked Pilate to do for them what he usually did.  “Do you want me to release to you the king of the Jews?” asked Pilate, knowing it was out of envy that the chief priests had handed Jesus over to him.  But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have Pilate release Barabbas instead.  “What shall I do, then, with the one you call the king of the Jews?”  Pilate asked them.  “Crucify him!” they shouted… Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them.  He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.

Mark 15:16-20

The soldiers led Jesus away into the palace … and called together the whole company of soldiers.  They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him.  And they began to call out to him, “Hail, king of the Jews!”  Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him.  Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him.  And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him.  Then they led him out to crucify him.

Matthew 27:33,35,36,45,46,50.51,54

They came to a place called Golgatha.  When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots.  And sitting down, they kept watch over him there.  From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land.  About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”  And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.  At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.  The earth shook and the rocks split.  When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!”

John 19: 33.34
When they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead… One of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.

Matthew27: 57, 59-61

As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph… Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him.  Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and placed it in his own new tomb that he has cut out of the rock.  He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away.  Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb.

Luke 24:1-6, 9-11

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.  They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.  While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them…  The men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?  He is not here; he has risen!”  When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and all the others.  But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense.

Mark 16:14; Luke 24: 36-41,46

Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating.  He said to them, “Peace be with you.”

They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost.  He said to them, “Why are you troubled and why do doubts rise in your minds?  Look at my hands and feet.  It is I myself!  Touch me and see… When he had said this he showed them his hands and feet.  He told them, “This is what is written:  The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations.

Luke 24:50,51

When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them.  While he was blessing them he left them and was taken up into heaven.
