We see this emptiness and search expressed in such songs as the one in Section 3 above.  Jean-Paul Sartre, the French existentialist philosopher, wrote a play "No Exit", no way out of the human predicament.  The Moody Blues, a leading pop-group, wrote the song "Question":

 Why do we never get an answer?

To the thousand million questions.

Challenge the person you are talking to with questions such as: "What would you offer to a drug-addict in place of his drugs?"   "What would you say to someone who felt life was worthless and wanted to commit suicide?"
